It is often surprising how words can shape our destiny, inspire us and also get us thinking! Sometime in my childhood, someone gave me a stained glass plaque with some stuff written on it. It was all rainbow coloured and the sun shone through it prettily, so I allowed Mom to put it up in my room. It sat there for many years, as I grew into a teenager and then an adult. Many years later, once life started to happen to me and some wisdom crept in, I realised how beautiful the words on that plaque were. This is what it said (it was a prayer actually):
“God grant me the
Serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can
And wisdom to know the differenceâ€_x009d_
There are some people in this world who have the power to say things perfectly, to get to the heart of the matter and to change the way we think. Here is a collection of some quotes by beloved authors and poets, that can influence children (and adults) deeply into becoming creative, principled and courageous grown-ups.

Expose your kids to these often, put them up on the walls, repeat them often or turn them into songs. The principle behind these beautiful thoughts will seep into their subconscious and at some point in their lives, influence how they deal with themselves and life’s curveballs. Happy reading!
