I have heard kids are far braver than adults when it comes to most things. When I spoke to Nia Nariman I found that be true more than ever.
Nia Nariman is a 12-year-old who lives in Mumbai and she is already an entrepreneur. during the lockdown when she was stuck at home, she decided to harness her passion for soap-making to raise funds for another passion – caring for stray animals through her Instagram page Soap_for_Strays
The inspiration, she says, came from her family adopting a stray dog. I collaborated with the NGO Welfare of Stray Dogs to raise funds to support their initiatives,
In the middle of all that chaos and uncertainty that we were all facing, Nia and her mom Zia had to deal with something else. In June 2021, Nia was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
But she’s not let that dampen her spirits. In addition to this initiative, she started a fundraiser along with CanKids KidsCan to raise funds for underprivileged kids who could not pay for the expensive treatment. She has managed to raise Rs 25 Lakhs through this and her target keeps increasing.

Who In Her Inspiration?
Her mum she says. The resilience, the strength and the smiling face beaming at me when I was talking were all I needed to tell me that this 12-year-old has more grit than most adults. Her friends & teachers have been a huge support for her since she’s been in and out of school. Everyone sends her work if she doesn’t make it to school and that has helped her keep up with her friends and her class.
She’s not sure what she wants to grow up and become but has a lot of ideas buzzing in her head. Continuing her entrepreneurial journey is definitely one of them.
What Does She Want To Share With Other Kids?
Don’t think you can’t do something just because everyone says you are just a child.
