Every woman's motherhood journey has its own share of ups and downs. For some, it all comes together so easily. While there are others who have to fight against all odds to cross a tough barrier. The end result is a bundle of joy that turns our life upside down and thus begins one's motherhood journey!

At Kidsstoppress, we have discussed parenting journeys time and again – how we have our own struggles and how we overcome them. The best part is, that there is no one solution or answer to those questions. Each story has its own struggles and victories and it is important to share these stories with the world. And that's what inspired us to start this series, in association with Merries India where we #KeepItReal by connecting with moms and bring you their birthing stories and how they stayed strong through their journey.

As we have mentioned earlier, these stories are to spread the #mybirthingstory experiences to help others who have gone through a similar journey and tell them they are not alone. Neha Chauhan Munjal tells us her story – how doctors told her she won't be able to have babies, her tumultuous pregnancy and the miracles that came through in the form of twins.  Her story on Instagram has got a lot of positive attention and we hope that her story will inspire you too.

This Is Neha's story

I felt like I was racing against my body clock. Married. Divorced. Remarried at 33. Babies were always a part of the plan. I knew I had to start right away.

My husband, a Merchant Naval Officer, was away for 4 months a year which made our window to conceive very small. Every month we would visit the doctor with hope and come back with shattered dreams. The 3 IUI treatments took a physical toll on me and I was sinking in depression. I took medication to increase ovulation. 2 months later, I found out I was pregnant. But this wasn't a happy moment. I suffered from an ectopic pregnancy. I lost a fallopian tube and 2 litres of blood. I was told, 'You may not be able to conceive.' For someone running against time, it took 6 months for me to heal.

I was left with 2 choices – adoption or IVF. I knew this was the last cycle for us and took almost 1000 injections. 2 weeks later, I impatiently waited for my reports. My beta HCG levels were high. We were finally pregnant – that too with twins. I was overjoyed but there was a voice that said, 'I could still lose my babies.' The tough part didn't seem to end.

My 1st trimester was hard. I kept bleeding and was rushed to the hospital twice. I was terrified when I was told that one of the foetuses didn't have a heartbeat for 10 days. 'How was I going to get through this, especially as my husband was leaving in a few weeks?'. I refused to let fear overpower me. I had to keep these babies safe. I put myself into a self-imposed house arrest the entire time.

The 3rd trimester was a disaster. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and cholestasis. I thought of the worse possibilities. To add to the grief, I had to prick myself thrice a day to monitor my sugar. I gave birth to my twins 6 weeks early. My doctor wasn't there. It was early. But the first time I felt that everything was going to be ok. I was blessed with 2 healthy daughters. The struggle that I had been through was now just a memory.
