The minute we hit December, we take our trees out and are ready for Christmas celebrations to begin! My family and I love to decorate our tree using my favourite ornaments. We play Christmas carols in the background and its a fun time for us. Christmas is all about spreading happiness and for me, that means a lot of yummy food on the table! The preparations for the festival are already in full swing in my house but are you ready with all your food preps? 

Today on KSP TV, we bring you recipes shared by Rushali Parikh, a home-baker. What we love about these recipes from Cocoa Panda is that they are easy to make recipes and easy to find ingredients you can kickstart the celebrations before the D-day with your kids! The recipes have been given a Xmas twist to spread some holiday cheer!

Santa Hats

Ingredients:

  • Oreos or any Round Biscuit 
  • 1 cup Whipping Cream 
  • Strawberries 
  • Piping Bag 

Method

  • Pour the chilled whipped cream into a steel bowl. 
  • Whip for 2-3 minutes until peaks form. 
  • Fill a piping bag with cream and cut off a small tip. 
  • Place your Oreo on the table & pipe some cream on it.
  • Place a strawberry on top
  • Pipe a little dollop on top of the strawberry as the Santa hat. 

Christmas Cookies

  • 150g Flour 
  • 100g Butter 
  • 30g Sugar 
  • Christmas Cookie Cutters 
  • Fondant : 
    • Red 
    • White 
    • Green 
    • Black 
  • Rolling pin 
  • Any board 
  • Parchment paper 

Method

  • Mix the flour, butter and sugar to form a dough. 
  • Wrap the dough in cling film and chill in the fridge for 20 minutes. 
  • Roll the dough between two parchment papers into 1/2 inch thickness. 
  • Remove the top sheet & use cookie cutters to cut out shapes. 
  • Bake in the oven for 10 minutes at 180 C until brown. 
  • Roll out the fondants and cut out the same shapes as the cookies – as per the colours you like. 
  • Take a paintbrush ( or your finger) and dab some water on the baked cookie. 
  • Place the same cutout fondant cookie and decorate as you like. 

Snow Globes 

  • 2 Bars Morde Dark Chocolate 
  • Whipping Cream 
  • Double Boiler 
  • Small Snow Globes that open
  • Any toy Christmas Toppers 
  • Grated White Chocolate 
  • Piping bag 

Method

  • Pour the chilled whipped cream into a steel bowl. 
  • Melt the chocolate in a double boiler. 
  • Once melted and slightly cooled fold the whipped cream into the chocolate. 
  • Add the mix into a piping bag and pipe into the bottom half of the snow globes. 
  • Sprinkle some grated white chocolate. 
  • Chill the globes and decorate with the Christmas topper. 

Cheese  Dip 

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese 
  • 1 Cup Shredded  Mild Cheddar Cheese 
  • 1/2 Cup Cream Cheese 
  • 2 Tbsp Cheese Spread 
  • Parsley Or Basil 
  • Red & Yellow Bell Peppers 
  • Salt 
  • Pepper

Method 

  • Mix all the cheese ingredients together with a whisk or spoon. 
  • Add in a pinch of salt & pepper. 
  • Chill in the fridge for half an hour before you start moulding it. 
  • Make a small ball & a big ball.
  • Place them on top of each other. 
  • Cut a small tip of a carrot as the nose. 
  • Peel strips of cucumber and put it on like a scarf.
  • Slice an olive into half to form the mouth and 2 bits to make eyes.
  • Take the other half of the mixture and make a cone shape on the plate. 
  • Decorate with the bell peppers as ornaments and the parsley/basil as the green tree. 
  • Add an olive/cracker/star biscuit as the topper.
  • Add on crackers on the plate and there you have your Christmas dips

Pizza wreath 

Ingredients 

  • Store-bought Pizza Bread 
  • Round Circle Cutter 
  • Mozzarella Cheese & Cheddar Cheese mixed 
  • Pizza Sauce 
  • Bell peppers green finely cubed
  • Red bell peppers cut lengthwise 
  • Parsley 
  • Olive Oil

Method

  • Place the pizza base on an oven tray.
  • Cut a round circle in the centre of the base.
  • Brush some olive oil onto the base
  • Spread the pizza sauce onto the base. 
  • Sprinkle the cheese. 
  • Top with some parsley
  • Add the green bell peppers. 
  • Work with the red bell peppers to form a bow shape. 
  • Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes and enjoy
