5 Facts Your Kids Must Know Before They Watch The Blood Moon Today

My little one was watching us talk about the eclipse and got super intrigued by hearing the word, Blood Moon. In simple terms, when the earth comes it between the sun and the moon, blocking the sun’s rays from hitting the moon and thereby, casting a shadow on the moon- it is known as a lunar eclipse. Also, the lunar eclipse we are going to witness today- the 27th of July, 2018 (yes, remember this date) is going to be one of the longest ever in the 21st century! And that’s because the moon will at a point in its orbit farthest from the earth- so to come out of the shadow, it will take the moon a good 103 minutes- that’s a lot of time to take out your camera and shoot a nice click, right?!
