While the first spinoff Star Wars movie (since it’s not actually an episode) is creaming the box office globally, our own saga continues in the Vyavaharkar household. The galaxy may be far, far away but George Lucas’ creation has probably not been closer to the heart of a four-year-old.

Our older daughter has been fed a healthy diet of Star Wars stories over the last year or so. She owns a pair of Star Wars pyjamas, a couple of lightsabers, and she doesn’t mind quoting ‘Do or do not. There is no try’ to her parents, especially when it involves getting a new toy. To ensure that her screen time is limited to about 30 minutes per week, she gets her dose of pop culture in other ways.

All that matters is that Anakin is a young boy, a little bit older than she is now, and he’s about to be a Jedi.

Yet, the thing about mythology of all sorts is that it teaches us life lessons. Star Wars is no different.

So, I quizzed my daughter about what this unlikeliest of Disney franchises has taught her. So, in random order and in her own words, here are her top 5 lessons: (SPOILER ALERT)
