The disruption of COVID-19 came not just with the threat to the health but it also came with major changes to lifestyle like physical, distancing, wearing masks, washing hands frequently and a lot of other anxieties. If it has put us at edge, isn’t it hard for us to expect our children to accept the new normal gracefully? 

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental helath is important at every stage of life, from childhood to adolescence – but sadly, it is the most ignored as well.

Earlier, we had also caught up with Dr Zirak Marker– Child Psychiatrist, Expert Educational Psychology, Mpower Minds and we asked him what runs in a parent’s mind when it comes to their child’s mental well being. He explained how ‘responsible parenting defines our kids’ mental and physical health and how parents today, should strike the right balance between being friends with their kids and ensuring discipline at the same time. Watch out for the small signs of change in their regular behaviour- don’t ignore them, he says.
