Stretch marks on the belly are a result of the abdomen stretching for nine months and contracting soon after. How does one get rid of these stripes? There are tons of products in the market but how do we know what works and what doesn’t? Here are some natural remedies that work to lighten or diminish stretch marks. Egg Whites: Sounds a tad bit gross, but the protein in egg whites actually helps. Just whip two egg whites and apply a thick layer on the stretch marks. When it dries, rinse with cold water. Apply oil to hydrate the skin. For maximum effect, rub three times a day. 3. Sugar Scrub: White sugar, almond oil, and lemon juice make a great sugar scrub. Rub it for 5-10 minutes on the stretch marks and then wash off. Apply a moisturiser to keep the skin soft. 4. Potato Slices: Cut a potato into thick slices, take a juicy part and rub it on the stretch marks. Wash it with hot water after it has dried. 5. Lemon Juice: Lemon juice is a bleaching agent and helps get rid of marks. Rub the juice on the affected area and let it dry. After 10 minutes rinse. 6. Vitamin E: Vitamin E capsules are a great way of getting rid of any kind of marks. The properties improve elasticity of the skin. 7. Apricot Scrub: Mash some apricots and rub on the marks. Repeat daily for good results. 8. Cocoa Butter: Cocoa butter is a deep moisturiser and very good for the skin. Apply it twice a day for good results.
