Who doesn’t love LEGO? My son loves to play with his LEGO blocks every day and he sets up his table with LEGO structures and keeps himself occupied with his favourite LEGO figures. As a mother, it gives me immense pleasure to see that there is something that can sustain my kid’s attention for that long! Playing with LEGO toys is a hands-on trial and error-based learning approach which enhances the child’s creative skills, lateral thinking, fine motor skills and also boosts their confidence when they successfully come up with a creation! This is really simple and can get your kids excited about the stacking idea. Grab a few LEGOÂ blocks and a marker. Write down the days of the week/months in a year on each LEGOÂ block and have your child line up the days of the week/months in order. Read more here.

This simple game will get your kids excited and teach them rhyming words! All you need is a few LEGO blocks, a mini figure and a marker. Using a masking tape, write out short words, and stick them onto 2 stacked LEGO bricks of the same colour. Make sure you include a couple sets of 7-8 rhyming words so there would be enough words to get the mini figure hop from one end of the board to the other. Read more here.

Colour and Shape Sorting With LEGO
On the baseplate, build twelve rows in four primary colours. Green, yellow, red, blue. Then have your child pull the blocks out and sort them in the corresponding coloured bowls. This way the kids can enhance their colour recognition skills and fine motor skills. Read more here.

Save this for the sunny days! Have your child build a structure. Place a white paper so that the shadow of the LEGO structure falls on the paper behind. Using a crayon have your child trace the outline of the structure using the shadow and create a drawing. Read more here.

All you need is a tape to attach a cardboard and paper to a chair so that it builds a slanting ramp-like structure.
