Social distancing is the best tool we as a civilization have to prevent the spread of coronavirus and “flatten the curve” to keep the numbers of severe cases down. But the kids after being cooped up in the house all day are getting super antsy.
Personally, we have let things slip at home. Since no one is stepping out, we all lounge around in our tracks all day. Kids were having a shower just before lunch or sometimes even after that. But I figured it was time to make a change.
I have become a little 'Hilter-ish' about some form of routine. They need to shower earlier in the day. Dress up some evenings, have a tea party with food they love eating other evenings and of course, exercising has become a big part of our evenings. Some form of exercising helps release some happy hormones. So important to keep everyone's mood upbeat. The news all around is way too depressing.
Today's daily planner has one thing different. I have not put any suggestion fo 3 PM. Post lunch is the most difficult time for me to keep my kids entertained. That's the time I want to crawl into bed and just lie there, snooze a bit and that's when my energy levels seem to flag.
What do you do every day to keep kids awake and occupied in the middle of the afternoon?
