It breaks my heart when people say girls should sit at home to be safe or wear covered clothes so they don’t get raped, But hardly anyone talks about teaching boys to respect and love women.

As a mother of a boy, it’s my responsibility to teach him how to respect not only his mother or sister but every woman in this world. This is what I have to say to every mother who has a child.

Teach your boys how to respect, love, care, empathize and apologize

Teach them not to judge anyone with what they wear

Teach them not to take advantage of someone’s emotions

Teach them that being strong doesn’t just mean being physically strong

Teach them how important it is to first give respect to gain respect

Teach them to respect and love women

Teach them not to question someone’s character with the length of their dress

Why should the length of our dress matter? Unfortunately, it does and that’s sad and scary.

My dress, My choice

My opinion, I will Voice.

To everyone who questions the length of our dress,

We will wear whatever we want, you don’t stress.

Girls should not step out late they say

You are right, whenever girls are out their parents sitting home always pray.

Those who harass, don’t see clothes or age

We are hurt, our hearts filled with rage.

Parents of a girl live in fear these days

What kind of society do we live in where no-one is spared.

Do not judge us with our clothes,

There’s more to us than just that beautiful dress and nail paint on our toes.

Let’s create a society which respects women

This was your home for 9 months, let’s keep reminding them.

As a parent, I want to have no regrets I will teach my little man how to show and earn respect.

With Love,

#BOYMOM
