We just finished partying for 2014 New Year’s Eve, you remember? Fellas we are half way through the year 2014 and your kids are academically a year older at this time of the year. After having dealt with summers and heat, it’s now time to have our encounters with the rains. Although we will be blessed with the season for 3 odd months, the June makes us feel special by orienting it. So enjoy the weekends of June with your kids along with hot tea, pakodas and some interesting plays that will entertain the Mumbaikars on different weekends.

2.      Wolf: The city kids are headed for a school trip to a tribal village in Madhya Pradesh. The trip gets adventurous as a boy goes missing and the whole bunch of kids is surprised at it. Do the kids hunt for the missing boy? Or they themselves get hunted? Is he taken away by the wolf or the witch doctor Juju is hiding something?  Or is the child affected by some evil spirit. Find out how and where this journey gets its destination.

3.      GOODLY’S JHANAK JHAYEIN – This one is the dramatization of “Gopi Gayne Bagh Bayneâ€_x009d_ by none other than Gulzar Saab in Hindustani Language. The play is based on the story written by Upendra Kishore Roychowdary who is from Bangalore. The story is about Gopinath Gayne, who is a son of poor grocer and aspires to be a singer. He is exiled into a forest where he meets Baga who plays drums. The duo sparks on a journey together to a place called Shundi were they get appointed as musicians by a king. From here on they begin their adventurous journey.

4.      CLUE: MURDER AT BODDY MANSION – Suspense and a thriller this play is an interactive one where you as an audience also get to participate in finding out who killed Mr. Boddy? At which place and with what weapon/s? Based on “Clueâ€_x009d_ an internationally famous board game which is now a fun Musical, you are invited to witness the world’s best known suspects live. The plot is followed by a murder at mansion which is occupied by several suspects. The puzzle is solved by a detective and the audience determines the end by drawing the cards and finding out the murder, weapon and the place. Here you get to be the audience and also a part of the play.

5.      THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS – The 1908 children’s classic is brought alive on stage. The play is based on a book by Kenneth Grahame speaks of an adventurous journey of five animal characters Rat, Mole, Toad, Otter and Badger. Mole who is good at heart moves to live with Ratty at his home where he becomes friends with Toad, Otter and Badger. The rich Jovial and proud Toad when create havoc with the latest motorcar craze, these animals decide to teach him a lesson. Eventually toad’s home is taken away. The five friends then team up and drive away to claim Toad hall.

With a fine mixture of morality and adventure, the play is relevant in today’s time as it has always been. Experience leisure and wonder in its simplest forms.

6.      MAGIC IF! As Jaadu Chal Gaya – Chulbul Pandey, a patrogonist is a 12 year boy. He has gone a little crazy over all the Gadgets, Social Media and the technology around. He thinks he is a genius but is lazy and has gone overconfident off late. Above everything what tops it all is he expects miracles to happen when it comes to studies. He expects a magic wand to solve his problems.
