We often dismiss a very restless child as being extremely naughty or something that the child will eventually grow out of. But when the same child has trouble concentrating or sitting still in school, is when the alarm bells for the parents go off.
Since 2005, there has been a 11% increase in cases of ADHD and ADD among kids and with over 10 million cases in India alone, ADHD is not something we can ignore. Though this condition can be diagnosed among children it is not only a childhood disorder but can be chronic and continue into adulthood. What is ADHD? Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a brain disorder wherein the person is constantly active, has trouble concentrating and paying attention and is simply restless. It is also marked by impulse behaviour.
