Apples are great first foods for babies simply because they are easy on the stomach, have a light sweetness which babies will enjoy and also contain fibre. They can also be easily prepared and can be served as a fruit puree, or mixed even with oats.

Here is what you will need for Apple Walnut Puree.

Ingredients

  • 2 apples (make sure to peel and core them )
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, shelled and halved
  • 1/8 teaspoons cinnamon (optional) 

How to make

  1. Firstly steam apple and walnut pieces in a pot
  2. Cook until apples feel tender and can be mashed with a fork. 
  3. Cool it down and then puree this mixture in a food processor until you have the desired consistency. You can thin it with the cooking water. Add cinnamon if using at this stage.
  4. Serve!
