Applying For A School Admission This Year? You Will Relate To This!

Shortlisting the best schools, visiting them, collecting reviews from other parents, applying to multiple schools and going through the horrible wait period for the admission list– I’ve been to all of these places last year and now when I see the next batch of parents asking me about my experience with the school admission process, at first I (secretly in my mind) heave a sigh of relief that it’s over for me and then without any qualms quickly admit that I was scared and in a way, I partially suffered from school admission phobia i.e a sense of fear associated with, “What if my child does not get into my dream school?” 12.Things start looking better and a lot better when you discover that there is a special admission quota for siblings at the other schools ;)Image source: media.giphy.com13. I have a 4-year old and so far her school admission has been one of the most difficult and the biggest decisions that I’ve had to take on her behalf as her parent. Shortlisting the best schools, visiting them, collecting reviews from other parents, applying to multiple schools and going through the horrible wait period for the admission list– I’ve been to all of these places last year and now when I see the next batch of parents asking me about my experience with the school admission process, at first I (secretly in my mind)  heave a sigh of relief that it’s over for me and then without any qualms quickly admit that I was scared and in a way, I partially suffered from school admission phobia i.e a sense of fear associated with, “What if my child does not get into my dream school?” Like I said earlier school admission is not easy and even though I prayed really hard, my kid did not make it to my dream school but if there is one advice I want to give other parents is just this relax it will all be over soon!

Here are 14 things which every parent who is applying to school admission will relate to.

1. The hunt for best school kicks in very early, much before your baby is born as you have that one friend who forces you to enter into a pact that your kids will go to the same school, the moment she finds out that you are pregnant.

2.You get to hear this comment from visitors coming to see your newborn, when you tell them you haven’t yet thought of which school your child will be going to. school-admisions17_kidsstoppress
