Many-a-times, throughout our lives, we pick up a number of unconscious biases. Some are through family while some are through the society at large. These unconscious biases sometimes stain our opinions about ourselves or the way we live our lives.
But wait!
What do you mean by unconscious bias?
Unconscious biases are social stereotypes about certain groups of people that individuals form outside their own conscious awareness. Unconscious bias are thoughts or feelings we’re not directly aware of, that influence our judgement. They are the attitudes and stereotypes that affect our views, our actions, and our decision-making ability. Which we’ve unconsciously created from our own background and experiences.
What is one main unconscious bias we have as moms?
I think you know the answer to this- MOM GUILT. This is something we are forced to experience. If we have goals and dreams that we want to achieve as individuals, especially after we have kids, it is immediately regarded as being “selfish“. And sadly, most of the times, we fall prey to this ideology and give up.
You don’t have to do that! You don’t need to put a full stop to your life just because the world doesn’t approve of it. Break free from this unconscious bias and achieve whatever you want in life.
