  • Any parent with a valid Aadhaar Card and a birth certificate for their child (whose age is less than 5 years) can get a Baal Aadhaar Card. The parent whose Aadhaar would be linked to the child’s Aadhaar would have to visit the Aadhaar Centre along with the child for his/her biometric authentication. No biometrics of the child are required.
  • Once the child reaches 5 years of age, a biometric update is mandatory for the Aadhaar Card. Another biometric update is done when the child is 15 years of age. Both these updates are done free of cost at any Aadhaar Centre.

If your child is over 5 years:

  • You can apply for an Aadhaar Card using their birth certificate, a valid school ID, one of the parent’s Aadhaar Card and a registered mobile number. Visit your nearest enrollment centre.
  • Your child’s fingerprint and iris scans will be taken at the centre and once the procedure is done, you would get a confirmation SMS, and within 60p days of receiving the SMS, you will receive your child’s Aadhaar Card.
