Amidst reports of a third wave resurgence in India, is this the wisest move? Parents are divided in their opinions and are looking to experts to help clear the air for them.

A recent UNICEF report on how the pandemic has affected 156 million students across 19 countries has got people to take notice of the current situation.
- Are our children ready to go back to school?

- When schools reopen, will it be for the senior classes or for primary children?
- Will the younger children understand the concepts of social distancing?
- Will all teachers and school staff be vaccinated by the time schools reopen?
Parents await the answers to these questions in the coming weeks.
Indian states that are in favour of resuming classes for kids:
Maharashtra:
Classes 5 to 8 in rural areas and classes from 8 to 12 in urban areas to reopen from August 17th.
Tamilnadu:
Schools to reopen for classes 9th to 12th from September 1st with 50% capacity.
Delhi:
Schools to reopen from August 9th for classes 10 to 12 for practical classes and admission related activities.
Punjab:
Has resumed for all classes from 2nd August.
Jharkhand:
The school reopened from August 2nd for classes 9 to 12.
Haryana:
The school has reopened for classes 9 to 12 from July 16th.
Himachal Pradesh:
The school reopened from August 2nd for classes 10 to 12.
Bihar:
The school has reopened for classes 10 and 12 from July 16th. Will resume from August 6th for classes 6 to 9.
Uttar Pradesh:
To resume classes from August 16th with 50% attendance.
Andhra Pradesh:
To resume classes starting August 16th. More details are awaited.
Karnataka:
The decision in favour of reopening- details to be announced soon.
West Bengal:
Proposed decision to reopen schools on alternate days after Puja holidays i.e. November.
