It’s Mother’s Day Special!

With celebrations everywhere, and last minute gift ideas for the supermom, we at KSP HQ are all geared up for the big day! Seriously, what is it that moms can’t achieve?! Serving as an inspiration to every mom out there like you and me, are these moms, who stood against all odds to design and develop innovative services/products that other parents can use to make their lives easier.

We at KSP have always believed in encouraging the efforts of mompreneurs and giving them due recognition. And that’s the reason- best Mommy/Parent-led venture categories are a mainstay in our KSP Awards!

Mom Brain Behind This Idea: Malika Sadani

Mallika Datt Sadani understood the harmful effects of toxins and chemicals used in most skincare brands. She started buying these toxin-free skin care products for her and her child in London. But realised upon her move back to India, that they were difficult to source. How many of us have sent a long list of products to our relatives and friends visiting the UK and US to bring back? She soon realised moms around her were in the same boat. In a market like India where Ayurveda, herbal remedies, and commercial products fight for shelf space — The Moms Co. decided to make a name for itself by making choice easier for moms and making them less wary of ingredients in a product for their children. Silver Linen is the brainchild of husband-wife duo Adnan & Tasneem who started Silver Linen in 2017. A stock market trader and graphic designer by profession respectively, the couple decided to start something new and exciting- something that will bring to life Tasneem’s designing skills to the fore. After looking out for quality bed linen with nice, kid-friendly designs, at affordable prices and seeing how there was a gap in the Indian market for such products- they decided to launch Silver Linen. Read our review here.

Mom Brain Behind This Idea: Kanupriya Tibrewala

A fashion designer at heart and a hands-on mom, Panchhi is the go-to couture brand for celebrity parents in India and is a popular name on Instagram. From customising the kids wear for special occasions to making them stand out from the run-of-the-mill designs, Kanupriya uses her expertise as a designer and her mommy sensibilities to use in the work she carves out at Panchii.

They make products which are mum-baby friendly, toxin-free and meet stringent international standards.  They have some fantastic kits which have everything you will need for your baby. They extensively use shea butter, cocoa butter and jojoba oil in their products to keep your baby’s skin soft and healthy.

Priyali Gadia, a Chartered Accountant by profession, an educator and a mom to a 2.5-year-old, always had a penchant for learning and teaching new languages. She realised there was hardly any quality reading material in Mandarin available to teach kids below 5 years and that’s when she noticed the visible gap in the Indian market that proved a hindrance when learning new languages. She soon came upon the idea of child-friendly material to learn new languages and Lingo Starz was born! Maulshree & Rizwan- a designer couple and parents of 5-year-old Yahir (hence the name Ma-Pa-Yah!), wanted to foray into the children’s world and put their design skills to good use. Maulshree, who has done the fabulous illustrations of the “Amma- Tell Me’ series penned by Bhakti Mathur, found her calling in the children’s world and decided to mix her love for Scandivanian ideas and Indian methodology to launch a design studio that makes a line of products dedicated to children. Love The World Today (LTWT) makes quality clothing for children in an environmentally friendly way. LTWT was started by two sisters from completely different backgrounds. Dipti started looking at the different products for children because she wanted to buy just the right clothes for her little one. Her sister, Dipna stumbled upon the children’s fashion industry while researching for a project. They compared notes one day and realised they could be onto something.
