Natkhat Krishna is back and how! The li’l darling of Vrindavan is all set to make kids (and parents!) fall in love with him and his antics! This is the second instalment of the play that premiered last Janmashtami.

This absolutely fun play has iconic tales from the life of Krishna woven into a simple narrative. Kidsstoppress got an exclusive first look at the play and we tell you why you need to go watch it with your children!

Natkhat Krishna is a 60 minute drama which has friendship at its core. The play is told by Krishna as he retells stories from his childhood and shares how he stole many pots of butter with his friends! Natkhat Krishna’s high point is its stellar music which carries forward the play as much as it enthralls audiences. The music is composed by The Sound Space and is a mixture of soulful, simple yet classical and contemporary music and is sure to resonate with the young audience.

The play has a lot of moments that explore the theme of good vs evil. These are told with humour that will not just elicit giggles from little ones in the audience but also drive home a message. For instance the story of Krishna vs Kaalia the snake is done beautifully with life like costumes. Directors have made sure there will be no scary moments for their youngest audience members. Violence and evil is depicted with no gore. The set design that brings alive Krishna’s Vrindavan, the lights, colour and sound all add to the beauty without interrupting the drama.

Natkhat Krishna holds many lessons for kids but does so without coming across as a preachy, religious play. Krishna is depicted in all his charisma and his little tricks make the audience members identify with him more than revere his god like status.
