The COVID-19 vaccine for the 18-45 age category is being rolled out starting May 1st, 2021 and people are already registering for the same. Amidst all the other doubts and queries regarding the vaccine, its efficacy, how it will help in protecting us from the monstrous COVID-19, there is a rumour circulating about how women who are menstruating should not take the vaccine. Or how women who are trying to conceive shouldn't take the vaccine. The rumours are endless and our WhatsApps are flooded with these messages.

We wanted to hear it from the expert and Mansi Zaveri, Founder of Kidsstoppress spoke to Dr Munjaal Kapadia, gynaecologist and is popular with his social media handle – @scissortongue and cleared the air on all these issues. It was an insightful conversation and one that put to rest the various myths. Here is what we asked the Doc.

  • Can women who are breastfeeding take the vaccine?
  • Can women who are on an IVF cycle take the vaccine?
  • Can women who want to conceive take the vaccine?
  • Why it is important to visit your OBGN?
  • Other common myths he wants to bust

Listen to the entire interview and share it with a fellow parent to clear the air. The end verdict from the Doctor- DO TAKE THE VACCINE!

We also spoke recently to Dr Nihar Parekh on how this second wave impacts children and what breastfeeding moms must remember about the vaccine. Click here for the interview.
