In this video, Dr. Nihar Parekh very simply explains the causes of these.

  • Androchronical disorders- hormonal imbalances
  • Thyroid and Diabetes
  • If not the above three, then it’s not a problem
  • Decrease of Melanocytes (greying)/ no Melanocytes (whitening)
  • Piebaldism
  • Vitiligo

  1. Local (scalp/hair related)
  • Trikotilomania/Traumatic hair loss (pulling of hair)
  • Severe dandruff
  • Fungal infections
  • Alopecia/Areata (patchy hair loss)

2. Systemic (overall body)

  • Post-covid stress
  • Post typhoid fever
  • Post prolonged sickness
  • Stress-related (above 5)
  • Loss of loved one
