Boasting of a collection of about 950 books and 150 games across age groups, the collection comprises of the regular old Baby Einstein books, Animal squeaky books, lots of lift the flap ABC & Numbers books, Nursery Rhymes, Bruno, Pepper, Noddy, Clifford, Barney and Bubbles. The book collection for older kids includes popular titles like Roald Dahl, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Percy Jackson, Dr. Seuss collection, Harry Potter, Things you would want to know, Pellinor Series, Peter and the Starcatchers , Nancy Drew, Geronimo Stilton, Wiggly Eyes stories of – the Crab, the Hungry Frog, Casper the Caterpillar and Sammy the Snail, Tiny Tots Best of series Panchtantra, Vikram aur Vetal, Katha Sagar, Time Life Values and Healthy Kids series, the Ladybird I can read series across levels, Bilingual books from Childrens Book Trust and Hindi story books too. Try their collection of board games when the rain gods are generous enough, games include aggravation, an innovative marble-version of Ludo, MasterMind, Flagit, Pentago – and the many brain games of logic, language and math (Mechanix, Tangram, Rhombus Blocks, Rubiks cube with monuments, the Clever Cubes series which cover topics like Phonics, Math, Telling Time and many more).

Curious Kids Circulating Library is a books and toys library operating in Andheri by Shalaka Gangolli and Jia Raichandani at home. The library is primarily for children upto 15 years. Boasting of a collection of about 950 books and 150 games across age groups, the collection comprises of the regular old – Baby Einstein books, Animal squeaky books, lots of lift the flap ABC & Numbers books, Nursery Rhymes, Bruno, Pepper, Noddy, Clifford, Barney and Bubbles. If that doesn’t get you all excited they also have ELC games like Charades (with pictures), Fairy Snap and Sea Life pairs, lots pf wooden peg puzzles , 8 – 10 pieces  jigsaw puzzles, Franks & Creative’s puzzles on concepts for preschoolers– fruits, transport, animals, household, life cycles etc and tents with balls.

There are a couple of Ruskin Bond titles and some classics like Black Beauty, Pocahontas, Robin Hood, the Wizard of Oz, Little Red Riding Hood, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, Rumpelstiltskin, Charlotte’s Web as well.

Comics anyone – 50 Chota Bheem, 30Young Scientist, Archie’s, Marvel and Phantom – the Ghost Who Walks!  Try their collection of board games when the rain gods are generous enough, games include aggravation, an innovative marble-version of Ludo, MasterMind, Flagit, Pentago – and the many brain games of logic, language and math (Mechanix, Tangram, Rhombus Blocks, Rubik’s cube with monuments, the Clever Cubes series which cover topics like Phonics, Math, Telling Time and many more). Adding to the collection are floor based games like Snakes and Ladder, Traffic floor mat with 5 road signs, Duck & Pigeon walk, Hopscotch, ring the Alphabets and a 3D Fire Engine puzzle.

With a modest setting and occasional book reading sessions the library is a fair attempt to start with. We wish to see a lot more books that are not the usual suspects.

Membership:

The one-time refundable deposit is Rs. 1,500/- and monthly membership charges are Rs. 500/- or Rs. 5,000/- for an annual commitment. You can borrow 3 books and 1 toy every turn (which is 1 week min and extends to 2 weeks if you live beyond Juhu).

Non members:

Non-members to spend play time at the premises for a nominal hourly charge of Rs.15/-. The children may play with toys, board games, jigsaw puzzles during this time. One can read books for a nominal hourly charge of Rs. 30/- .

Monday – Friday: From 4 – 7pm

Saturdays: 11 am – 1pm.
