When I was growing up my mother would perpetually be in the kitchen. It was her way of ensuring that the family ate healthy and stayed healthy. Now when I am a mom of two, I try and cook for them as often as its possible. I cook food which is tasty and wholesome but that doesn't stop them from screwing up their noses every once in a while when a particular vegetable they don't like is cooked for lunch or dinner.

I guess I was too lenient with them when they were growing up. I should have followed Chef Kunal Kapur's advice. Kids palates are like clean slates and we have to bombard them with different flavours for them to develop a taste for it all.
