It was honestly an amazing experience for us at Kidsstoppress to interview the one and only- Ruskin Bond. From writing for adults to kids to becoming the master storyteller with over 7 decades of experience, Ruskin Bond is truly a legend in the literary world.
In an exclusive interview of Ruskin Bond by Mansi Zaveri in association with Crossword, we got to hear so many wonderful pointers from the man himself. Not just on writing or the art of raising readers, he also spoke on what success means to him, why he loves Mussourie and what the lockdown has taught him! Here are some of the brilliant points Mr. Bond shared in the conversation that we loved the most:
- Don’t expect your kids to read the books you get them always. Help them discover good books. That’s one step to raise a reader and help them fall in love with books.
- Don’t be afraid of failures. It is very important for children to learn to embrace failure. The first time you fail, learn your lessons. The next time- just fail better!
- It is not difficult to write for this tech-savvy generation of kids. ‘Coz the certain factors remain the same as we traverse through generations!
- I am a reader first, writer second!
Psst- we also got a sneak peek at the what the day in the life of Ruskin Bond looks like, how he spends his time during the lockdown and how his real-life characters have reacted to their portrayals in his stories!
