We enjoyed every bit of this movie – there were moments where we cried, empathized – and it struck me that I am not the only mean mommy on the block.

The last year hasn’t been easy. Days are filled with anxiety, grief, love, fatigue, and the multi-tasking chores never seem to end. I’ll be honest – I was tired, drained, and being present on social media was just very hard. I cringe thinking of the days I did back to back LIVEs while my kids played among themselves – and I guess they just had to deal with a working mother.

But I will confess that I didn’t have any mom guilt. I am not going to put my dreams on hold because I have worked very hard to build what I have at Kidsstoppress.com. And I am learning each day how to strike the right balance with work and my kids.

However busy I am – over the weekends we pick a movie and watch it together. And a few weekends ago, we watched The Intern. And my kids were impressed. We enjoyed every bit of it – there were moments where we cried, empathized – and it struck me that I am not the only mean mommy on the block.

Do watch this movie – the kids will have many key takeaways and life lessons to learn from.

What is The Intern about?

A retired executive applies to fill the newly conceived position of the senior intern after retirement has become too boring for him. He applies to a fast-growing e-commerce fashion startup. Founder and CEO Jules Ostin had previously agreed to a community outreach program where seniors would intern at the firm. Ben impresses everyone and is one of the four hired. This movie is about relationships, work-life balance, being a life-long learner, and more. Just what you will want to talk to your kids about.

Key Takeaways From The Intern

My kids have always been the biggest supporters of Kidsstoppress.com and I wish they remain to see work the same way I did. This movie was just a reflection of my hard work at Kidsstoppress and how finding that balance is hard at times! Through this movie, my children will be able to see that many other women, just like me can dream and work to achieve it all. Here are some key takeaways from the movie:

1. Dream big – they have been taught not to differentiate between sexes

2. It will be tough but then, what’s not tough?!

3. Perfection is an illusion

4. Follow your heart

5. It’s hard to find the balance. It’s ok.
