Wondering how to make it a fun time for your kids while staying indoors? How can you best use this time with your kids to teach them useful and interesting things? We tell you!

Here- we tell you fun ways to get your kids all interested in nutrition and the art of eating healthy. Try them with your kids and tell us if they loved it too! 

1.Food Group Sorting

Make a simple chart with four buckets and get fruit, vegetable, dairy and grain stickers or simply print and cut them out. Now ask your child to classify them into four buckets.

2.Collect Pics of green vegetables from Newspapers or Magazines and make a collage

 

Show your child the right way to differentiate between healthy food and not healthy food by cutting out pictures from magazines and newspapers and making a healthy eating collage!

3.Radio: Fun Ways To Learn to eat healthily

Healthy eating doesn't have to be boring, it can be so much fun! We tell you all you need to know about the different food groups and how you can create little games to make eating healthy fun!

4.Make Healthy Trail Mix With Mommy

Trail mix is a snack that can take on any shape or form! Make it healthy, make it decadent, make it with whatever you have on hand. So easy and yet so versatile! This super easy recipe takes 2 minutes to make. All you need are some grains, dry fruits, and a few treats. Mix them all together in a mason jar and there you have it, your own trail mix!

5.Yoga Poses With Mommy

One of the best ways to keep your little one healthy and hearty is yoga. Yoga helps to improve concentration, boost confidence and reduce the level of stress in children. Not just these but there are numerous benefits.

6.Make a Paper Plate Banana

Make your kids know just how important the humble banana is by making a banana out of craft paper and talking about the fruit. You could also read Pete the Cat and the Bad Banana to round off the activity! 

7.Food Art

Kids love food that comes in creative shapes and colours so why not have them help you! Use cookie cutters and other kitchen tools and with fruits and veggies whip up a few snack animals? 

8.Make a fruit salad

Ask your child to make you a bowl of fruit salad! Let’s see how creative they get!

9.Help Mommy Clean The greens

This one is a chore kids must learn early. When you are cleaning greens instead of doing it alone, ask your child to help! Talk about what greens provide for the body and why it is an absolute must to include greens in the diet.

10.Help Mommy Make a list of Healthy groceries To be purchased This Week

Plan a trip to the market and have your child help make a grocery list! They must include healthy items!
