On our special Grandma’s recipe series, we bring you a tried and tested recipe that has been passed down through the generations. Wheat Raab porridge is a dish that I have had as a nursing mom. It is warm, delicious and pure comfort in a bowl! But this porridge is not just delicious but packs that nutritional punch that all new moms need. It has gond (edible gum) which helps in lubricating the joints and reduces back pain.

Ingredients: 

  • Wheat
  • Gur 
  • Peepramul powder 
  • Gond (Edible Gum)
  • Asaliya/Aliv (Garden Cress Seeds)
  • Dried Coconut Flakes
  • Saunth (Ginger Powder)
  • Water

Method

  • Heat ghee in a pan and add gond to it
  • Mix it up to combine
  • Add the asaliya seeds
  • Keep stirring so that the mixture doesn’t stick 
  • Sprinkle in the atta
  • Stir to combine it all and cook for a few minutes
  • Add melted gur water and cook on low flame
  • Sprinkle in the peepramul powder, saunth powder & grated coconut
  • Cook till it combines and thickens a little
  • Serve warm
