Halle Berry testifies for new paparazzi bill!!

Actress Halle Berry has testified for a bill that would limit the ability of paparazzi to photograph the children of celebrities and public figures in California Capitol. A worried mother says that her daughter refuses to go to school fearing the paparazzi who jump out of bushes and from behind cars.  She believes that the anti-harassment bill is passed, the quality of her life and her children’s life will dramatically change.

The bill is said to be about activity that “seriously alarms, annoys, torments or terrorizesâ€_x009d_ a person. It also includes photographing or recording a child without permission of local guardian. Anyone convicted of a first offense could spend between 10 days and a year in jail. It also allows civil lawsuits to be filed.

While Berry spoke in favor of the anti-harassment bill by senator kevin de leon, journalism advocates opposed the bill saying it will interfere with the reporters and the photographers gathering news. Some say it also potentially puts private citizens at risk of prosecution.

Psychologists believe that often paparazzi can traumatize these celeb babies who develop ‘startle response’ where they become hyper alert. Their little minds get filled with fear as they don’t know how to deal with the limelight.
