The recent reporting in a city newspaper about how a cabbie got a mom and daughter spinning around the deserted streets of Mumbai got me wondering on really what’s wrong with people?

When I read about the helpline number, I thought it was extremely important for me to share this piece of useful information with our readers in Maharashtra so we could ‘Save the world of Pink’ (if you haven’t read our post then read it here).

The helpline line number 103 recently saved the lives of a mother and daughter (15 years old) in Mahim, Mumbai. They were being abducted by a taxi driver in Mahim when the mother quickly called the helpline number 103. What was impressive is how inspite of a call drop the police called back 7 times and traced the location of the cabbie and finally confronted him at a Mahim signal.

This helpline is especially created for the safety of women when they find themselves in any kind of trouble or threat. The quick response from this helpline helped track down the location of the cab and saved their lives.

These are a few other helpline numbers I’d like to share, for women in distress:

Delhi: 181

Bangalore: 1091

Maharashtra: 103

Please do keep these numbers handy and make sure you save them on your phone now.
