ksp- yelling at kids and how to control it ksp question of the week- insta to website

Another busy week. Deadlines that seem to drop out of nowhere and tasks that add out of nowhere. Then you come home to chores that have no end! Or maybe you have had a hella busy festive week attending to guests and relatives and you finally got a break, but no one’s helping you out with cleaning. Frustration is taking over you and you just really need to close your eyes and rest but then your kid comes along and decides it’s the best time to do something that will irritate you to the core. And the volcano has erupted!

We Don’t Do It On Purpose:

Agreed, we don’t do it on purpose, we are humans after all. And we also feel stupid after yelling or shouting at them. Not to mention a ride on the guilt train later! Sometimes, it just happens. We just snap and don’t realise what we’re doing. However, we cannot ignore the fact that it does affect children. They do get hurt and that is something which makes us sad too.

So, what should we do, if we accidentally yelled at them?

Apologize. Maybe it was their mistake after all, but there is a more decent and calm way to correct or address it. As parents, we should be well aware of that.

We wanted to know the opinions of desi parents and the techniques they use to get a hold of themselves when they are about to lose it! And so, we asked this #KSPQuestionOfTheWeek on our Instagram account.

Here’s what they had to say,

Yes! Pause, collect your thoughts and then roll!

You don’t have to address your child at that very moment. This is an amazing tip for all situations!

Ahh! The complexities of parenting!

This is so true and important! What are your techniques? Tell us in the comments below nd share this with your parent circle.
