When people think Indian food the words that normally come to mind are hot, spicy, oily, rich, fatty and creamy. But little do we know that the traditional Indian thali of food is actually a good balance of spices, carbohydrates, proteins, fats, all the elements to make a balanced diet.
Now as per Ayurveda, there are three doshas in Ayurveda, which describe the dominant mind/body state: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. And at different points, there may be an imbalance when one dosha becomes more prominent and affect you adversely.
We spoke to Ayurveda nutrition consultant Amrita Kaur and she explained what are the different doshas and what we should eat to balance things out when our body reacts to the disturbances.
