Ready to jump into gardening? It can be daunting at first, but gardening is an incredibly rewarding hobby to get into. If you have been thinking of starting your own kitchen garden, don't fret.
Being stuck at home has got people to start doing so many new things. Some have learnt to cook or bake while others have been inspired to try their hand at gardening and growing little potted plants. Now just to be clear, you don't need a huge garden to give this a shot. A small kitchen garden can even start on a window sill. All you need is the sun, some soil and a time to potter around your plants and in no time you will be addicted.
Start small and watch the fun. We should also clarify that no one should go into gardening expecting instant results. Gardening is a slow and systematic process and you have to nurture and love your little seeds before they start fruiting.
We spoke to Nandita Iyer from Saffron Trails and she told us how we can grow microgreens, celery, methi, dried peas, mustard and so much more – all in pots. She walked us through how we can use simple trays or plastic cups that we have at home to start off our kitchen garden. Use this stay home time to plan a kitchen garden to grow your own vegetables, fruit and herbs.
