Influencer, entrepreneur and mom boss all at once, Yamini is the prime example of the tough get going when the going gets tough. Back in action 10 days after giving birth, Yamini’s work ethic and passion were instrumental in balancing her own business and motherhood.

Read how she fought through multiple obstacles to make her parenting and career dreams come true.

Yamini’s Story:

A passionate and hard-working soul, Yamini Aggarwal always wanted to work after her marriage and fortunately, her husband Piyush was always supportive of her choices.

The duo were avid foodies who started posting foodie reels and started gaining a lot of followers and encouragement from people. Suddenly they were both influencers, getting millions of views and likes on their new page. But Yamini wanted to do more than that as she soon started her own PR and marketing agency.

But Yamini’s parenting journey was not as straightforward as her career would make it seem. She had an unfortunate miscarriage once before, so the second time around Yamini was on bed rest for 2-3 months straight. Being in bed for so long and not being able to do anything was difficult, but Yamini pushed on.

Then In the second trimester, the doctor gave her a go-ahead and she was now free to move and go out. That’s when Yamini started her own PR and Marketing company.

“When I was on bed rest. I was studying and doing a lot of market research. And the first opportunity I got, I just grabbed it.”

This doesn’t mean she didn’t have any doubts. Yamini was scared after having the baby that she might have to cut back on work and make more sacrifices than she was prepared for.

“Raising the baby had it’s own challenges. Plus my company was at the growth stage. So there was no vacation, there was no off.”

It didn’t get any better after her daughter, Nihira was born. There’s this Jhappa period of 40 days where you’re just told to rest and recover. Yamini couldn’t stay in bed at that time. Nihira wasn’t doing so well. They had frequent doctor visits and within 10 days Yamini had to get back to normal life, to her normal routine.

“That fueled something in me. I said, if the stars don’t want me to rest then I won’t rest.”

Yamini has not taken an off ever since. no vacations, no travelling, working after her daughter falls asleep to catch up on what she missed during the day.

There’s a support system around her that she can count on and Yamini is truly grateful for the people at home who support her. “It’s not a single man operation, everybody is working together to make this happen.

Some are not okay with the idea of Yamini working this much with a baby.”You’re not a good mother”, “You should stop working” are just some of the things Yamini had to hear.

“I know they’re talking behind my back. If not to my face. The relatives, the neighborhood, everyone is just saying the same thing, even the followers…”

But part and parcel of being a strong woman is knowing when to ignore what and Yamini has mastered the subtle art of doing exactly that.

Yamini finds true happiness in what she doesn’t and especially in being the role model she wants her child to follow. A strong-willed, hardworking woman who never gives up no matter what.

I love doing what I do. I love my job and I love my kid, I wouldn’t have it any other way”

Kudos to you Yamini! You’re a true inspiration to moms everywhere.
