With the festive season kicking off, meetha will become a fixture in all houses. From now until Diwali, it's going to be non-stop fun. Rakhi is a special time for brothers and sisters. While you run around trying to find the perfect rakhi, the perfect outfit and a special gift for your brother/sister, you will also want to find something special to sweeten it all. So this Rakhi, make these special sweets that kids and adults will love. 

Each recipe has been carefully put together and made as healthy as possible. I have given the traditional sweets a twist to make it interesting. I hope you enjoy making them for your family as much as I did!

Try these recipes

Beetroot Kulfi (Makes 6 small kulfis)

Ingredients

  • 1 medium-sized (80 gms) Beetroot boiled, peeled and chopped
  • 1 large, ripe Banana
  • 3/4 Cup thick Yoghurt
  • 1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp fresh Lime Juice
  • Honey to taste
  • Pinch of ground Green Cardamom (elaichi)
  • 1 Tbsp Rose Water (optional)

Method

  • Blend all the ingredients together in a high-powered blender until completely smooth.
  • Taste and adjust the sweetness, if needed.
  • Spoon the mixture into kulfi moulds and freeze until set.
