Kidzania comes to Mumbai & a Tete a tete with Shahrukh Khan

For all those missed on our announcement post on Kidzania can read here. It is no surprise that both parents & kids have been anxiously waiting for the Mexican Edutainment chain to open in Mumbai and mark the launch of its 14th Store worldwide. We were extremely excited to go for this launch to see if the global chain has replicated the city just like we’ve
experienced it across the globe. For all those who have well it is no surprise that its just what you expect, international standards, highest service standards and a promise to keep the space as child friendly as parents would love it to be. We walked into the Press
conference with a Red Carpet rolled out and got our boarding pass to the world of Kidzania. Just leave everything behind and enjoy just the way its made. Spread over 75000 sq feet Kidzania is an indoor family edutainment theme park that emulates the workings of
a real city. Simply put its a mock world for kids between 4 – 14 years with paved roads, cars, Fire dept, hospital, dentist, supermarket, and over 60 plus real world establishments and over 80 role playing options. We all know the importance of role plays in
raising kids and how its important for them to be more than Princesses and pilots. With a balanced flavour of India Kidzania has establishments like a Bollywood acting studio, pottery Studio and Dabbawalla services too. The Press meet began with a tour to the space and a conversation with the team behind this lovely concept. Most of them being parents understood the relevance of such a concept and how it will fit in so seamlessly with the new
age kids today. Here are a few exclusive pictures and a video to take you through the launch. While I was keen on meeting the King of Bollywood I was most anxious to know the parent behind the star.
We caught up with ShahRukh Khan in an exclusive interview to know his parenting style: Kidsstoppress: Shahrukh modern parents feel its extremely difficult to cope with
work, demanding schedules of children , social commitments & smart phones. How do you manage to squeeze out quality time for your kids inspite of such a hectic schedule? How do you evade the tantrums of please dont go to work, etc?
ShahRukh Khan: Well yes its is extremely challenging but what doesn’t change is that
childhood is short lived and these times will never come back. My kids are the most important people to me in the world, replacing my parents too, so there is no question of
not being there for someone who means the world. Yes I have erratic schedules & commitments and long outdoor shoots but when I take a lot of special effort to make it up by talking to them, reasoning and being there to run simple errands like receive them at the airport, be part of
their achievements & celebrations like annual days, sports days, tournaments. I am there for them when they need me and they are always there for me too. Aryan to share the Happy
times and Suhana when I am down and out and need some practical advice.

Kidsstoppress: With the abundance of everything how do you teach your kids the value of things?
Shahrukh Khan: Reasoning and never telling them that you cant get it. Always give them so much
with the limited means that you have that they are never starved for anything. They will always be happy and value whatever you give them. Always let them know that there is so much in the world but what they have is the best.
