In a recent interview on Raising Parents on Jio Saavn, a podcast hosted by Mansi Zaveri, we spoke to Kiran Manral and she raised a very worrying question. We were discussing the kind of world we are leaving behind for our children. I am sure as I pose this question to everyone, everyone is stumped because you won't have many answers.

2020 has been difficult for many. Our children are deprived of learning in school, meeting, and playing with friends, enjoying the outdoors. As parents, we want them to enjoy their childhood, just the way we did. We want them to have the same values our parents raised us with. But sometimes, we just don't know where to start. I must confess, books have always helped me.

On that pursuit, on #KSPBookClub, we share a book that humbly attempts to bring Gandhi's message of love into the lives of children today.

What's the book we are reviewing today?

If we are to reach real peace in this world, we shall have to begin with children. – Mahatma Gandhi

At KSP Book Club, today we are speaking about Three Wise Monkeys by Divya Kadam and Anita Jain. This book has a modern twist to the ancient wisdom of Gandhiji. Yes, we do live in a modern world, but Bappu's values will inspire children to choose love and peace over fear and anger. Gandhiji embodied the values of seeing no evil, hearing, or speaking no untruth or evil. These are reflected in the book and it is an invitation to laughter, play with Gandhiji's favourite monkeys! Now isn't that intriguing?

What more?

  • This book teaches Gandhiji's values and virtues in a fun illustrative manner. The examples mentioned in the book are very relatable.
  • Every page of this book is beautifully illustrated with hand-painted watercolor sketches.
  • This story is sure to delight and inspire children to be the best versions of themselves.
  • We love that at the end of the book they have illustrations so that kids enact speak no evil, hear no evil, and see no evil
  • The book also shares fun facts about Gandhiji's values
