KSP Book Club: Watch Out! No Touch

At a time when we are hearing horror stories of violence against kids from across the nation, this picture book for kids aged 3-6 years teaches them the difference between good touch and bad touch for the innocent young minds. Weaved in the form of a story of a little girl and how she helps her young friend against a predator, the book sends home the right message for kids to react and report such incidents. Narrating the story of the brave girl Sargam, who teaches kids how you never keep secrets from parents, with an interesting narrative and colourful illustrations, the book will end up not being just preachy.

What is it about?

At a time when we are hearing horror stories of violence against kids from across the nation, this picture book for kids aged 3-6 years teaches them the difference between good touch and bad touch for the innocent young minds.  Weaved in the form of a story of a little girl and how she helps her young friend against a predator, the book sends home the right message for kids to react and report such incidents.

Why is this book on our shelf?

  • Sometimes, just watching the news or reading stories on the newspaper isn’t just going to help explain the gravity of the situation to children. We need to speak to them in a language they will understand. This book does just that.
  • To engage your little preschoolers in a serious topic like this can be tough. That’s when the story-like format of this book helps. Narrating the story of the brave girl Sargam, who teaches kids how you never keep secrets from parents, with an interesting narrative and colourful illustrations, the book will end up not being just preachy.
  • This is a part of the ‘Watch Out!’ series by Scholastic to help raise socially aware and responsible citizens. And as parents, we can’t wait for more books.
