What is Gynaecomastia?
Gynaecomastia is enlargement of male breasts tissue. It is a condition which causes boy’s/men’s breasts to swell and increase in size larger than normal. It is most common in young adolescent boys. However it can occur at any age.

Causes – The causes of Gynaecomastia could be one or a combination of the following:
- Small amount of extra tissues around the nipples.
- Hormonal Imbalance
- During Birth (goes away within few weeks) – Can affect as osterogen passes through the placenta from mother to baby.
- Older Age
- During Puberty, if the level of testosterone drops, oestrogen can cause breasts tissues to grow.
- A health abnormality such as kidney failure or liver disease
