I am one of 4 daughters, and my parents have always raised me strong, and opinionated. They told me never to fear to speak my mind. I am a product of my childhood, and wish to do the same with my daughters. I have made sure to introduce her to books that talk about strong girls, and keep reminding her that she is an equal.

I also think it is very important for parents to also realise to talk about other matters – like good touch, bad touch, abuse, and more. Yes – I would like to believe they would never need to know, but we need to make them aware of what is happening around them.
