Deepthi Gohain. A super mom at home, a super achiever at work, an avid traveller, fitness freak, amateur photographer, renowned blogger and a trained dancer – these are all the things I dream to be. In reality, I am a juggler trying to do some of the things some of the times and none of the things most of the time. I live in Bangalore with my two best friends and enjoy exploring all that the city has to offer.

All of us with daughters couldn’t stress enough just how special they are and how they transform our lives into a mini fairytale with daily doses of giggles, pinks, tutus, fairies, hugs, and kisses. It’s so much fun listening to their chitter chatter, giggles and stories. What I would like to share with you are some ways in which I spend time with my daughter while we have loads of  fun! No learnings, no chores, just plain fun and great memories.
1. Mani’cute’ time
My daughter loves getting her nails painted and I often firmly refuse to let her do it. But once in awhile during the holidays, I ask the ‘not till she is 15’ voice in my head to shut up and we both sit together to colour each other’s nails. Those tiny fingers with tiny nails look so cute with the paint on! Add on some glitter coat and stickons and she is ready to rule the world!
2. Selfie time
Who doesn’t like to take selfies in this day and age? We love it and we don’t miss an opportunity to click one. Selfie with our glares on, pouting selfie, smiling selfie, squinting selfie and her favourite- the monkey face selfie. It’s also a great idea to make a collage of all the selfies and frame them up.
3. Style my hair mommy Â

My daughter has short hair and she is always in awe of all the girls in school with long hair and the different hairstyles they sport. So I regularly browse through Pinterest and YouTube for short hair hairstyles and experiment them on her. Now this is something I enjoy more than her but she does love flaunting those hairstyles.
4. DubsmashingÂ

Bitten by the dubsmash bug yet? Try it and you are bound to get addicted. And what surprised me most was I didn’t know what a big dramebaaz my lil one was until I saw her make her own dubsmash videos. It’s so much fun doing these dubsmash videos and think of what a treasure it would be to watch them 15-20 years later.
5. Make up for mommy
 Well, you have to be very brave to do this one. Give her your eye pencil, lipstick and blush to draw and let your face be her canvas. Take a deep breath, close your eyes and sit in front of her and what will follow is a series of giggles and laughter and a picture perfect moment.
6. Champi time
 This one is my favourite and something you can enjoy with your daughter no matter how old she is. A weekend ritual enjoyed by both mommy and daughter and the fun triples when we are joined in by grandma too.
7. Pajama party and Picnic time
My daughter is too young to have a pajama party or a picnic with her own friends, but not too young to join one with my friends. So whenever my husband is travelling, I plan a pajama party at home with all my girlfriends and the mommy friends also get their lil ones along. And then it’s one rocking pajama party with music, dance, junk food and games!
8. Dressing up time

Who says you have to wait for that fancy dress competition to play dress up. Sometimes when we have nothing to do, we dress up and do role-plays. Doctor, teacher, shopkeeper, beautician, Sofia the Princess or sometimes even as her own grandmother, the list is endless. It is also interesting to learn about their understanding and perception of each role and also a lot of fun at the same time.
9. Prank Papa time

We saved the best for last! One of our favourite pastimes. Whether it is switching off the light when papa is in the bathroom or hiding when he comes back from office or prank calling when he is working late in office, the options are endless!
