The best part of being a new mother for me was definitely breastfeeding. There is a sizeable population of moms who will not agree with me but let me explain why it was my favourite part.

Motherhood for me was about feeling special with unconditional love and nurturing my little one. When I would see that little baby for whom the world was confined to nothing else but the comfort, smell and touch of the breast it made me feel special. It made me feel wanted. It made me understand what is nurturing. I was a working mom, and I didn't let anyone tell me that I couldn't do both! But I had the choice to opt for both.
But the society we live in, hardly lets us dwell on this feeling. There will be unsolicited advice. There will be suggestions. There will be recommendations. There will be eye rolls. There will be improvements. The list is endless.
As new moms, it is essential we take in as many essential inputs and advice as we need (I agree, some advice are magical!) but make sure you filter out the unsolicited Gyan that it comes with!
