Music and dance are two passions that are shared by people across the globe and it doesn’t matter what genre of music or type of dance form you prefer. It’s a universal language that is appreciated by millions.

Mansi Zaveri of Kidsstoppress recently met up with Sriram Emani, the co-founder of IndianRaga. Sriram Emani is an alumnus of the MIT Sloan School of Management. Winner of the MIT IDEAS Global Challenge and US Creative Business Cup 2012,  IndianRaga took the music scene by storm when they remixed the popular English song ‘Cheap Thrills’ giving it a fantastic classical Indian spin.

IndianRaga is an international platform where musicians come together to collaborate and produce high-quality videos. Sriram Emani realised that there was tremendous talent out in the world and Indian classical performing arts was always something that appealed to him- so why not bring it all together? They launched in the US and will be launching in India very soon.

Sriram Emani tells us how the whole process works from start to finish if you are a musician/artist who’s keen to release a video on social media. They train them in all aspects from how to present themselves on camera to where their performance may be flawed and can be improved.

He has some great advice for kids about communicating, expressing themselves and the different philosophies that govern the Western & Eastern worlds. Find out how to get the IndianRaga Fellowship when they launch in India. You can apply on their website soon. IndianRaga is also collaborating with The Red Pen to help educate the kids on their scope when they apply and enter universities across the world.

How do children learning Indian performing arts differ from their western counterparts? What can Indian kids do to establish them on a global platform and how have attitudes of parents changed when it comes to learning music? All these questions and more are answered when Mansi Zaveri talks to Sriram Emani, founder and CEO of IndianRaga about their big launch plans in India.
