LeMonk ( pen name of Sachin Uchil) has been a teacher since 22 years. He as a kid started writing. However the author was awakened by his elder daughter Yashashree Uchil who is his co-author. Aged 15 she started writing at a very early age. And with the motivation of the people around her she began to write better, Her latest writing is a poem “If I were granted a wishâ€_x009d_. It is based on the Nirbhaya Case and talks about the situation of Indian women.
The book ‘Batatawadai Puram Adventures and More’ is a collection oh short stories and poems written by the father and daughter duo. It is based on fiction stories and inspiring poems. The book aims at school going children so as to target young kids who are forgetting about society.
The stories are based on discrimination, environmental degradation, pollution and other such important issues but in a simple understanding language. And many of them manage to touch your heart.
The author manages to teach kids about the simplest things in a form of beautiful stories which are based on friendship and kindness. There also meaning full poems after each story which are on different topics.
The characters of the book  Guru, Sri, Nath & Nina are a group of close friends who study together. They manage to find trouble and yet get out of it with luck, intelligence and help from each other.
‘Batatawadai Puram Adventures and More’ is a good read for young kids. A very simple funny and intelligent way to teach kids about the important things in life.
