The textbooks have been distributed and handouts emailed to the parents. Students across the country brace themselves for a new term- albeit digitally this time. And the question lingers in the minds of the parents- are our kids ready for this?

Schools have classes that span from 3-6 hours with breaks in between that leaves children with very little time for play. But learning loss, on the other hand, is a serious issue that we are dealing with too? So what IS the middle road here? What is right and what's not?

We have received some interesting questions from readers when we announced our webinar on the topic- "Redefining Classrooms: Is Online Education A Boon Or A Bane?" We have collated some of them below. Have more? Write into us in the comments below- we will ask the experts-Dr Swati Popat Vats, Fatema Agarkar and Dr Samir Dalwai today at 4.30 pm.

  • The primary concern for most parents is the screen time that ranges from 3-6 hours for the kids on a 5-days-a-week basis. Is that a lot? Will that be affecting them in the long run?
  • And instead, if these online classes are banned- how will children learn something concrete? What about the fear of learning loss and regression?
  • Every state comes up with a new guideline every day- it's confusing- what's the final verdict in my city?
  • Does my child in kindergarten need an online class?
  • If my child isn't attending school- should I still pay the fees? What happens when I don't?
  • As a working parent- I just don't have the time to facilitate the online classes or homeschool my child? What are my options?
