Product Review: Get The Best Of Your TV Time With The New Teewe 2

Our children today have a unique advantage. They have a million ways to access knowledge. Be it from books or technology, answers can be found instantly and new worlds can be tapped into frequently. A new addition to this list is Teewe.

At KSP we are all for technology that allows kids to learn and we believe if used in the right, appropriate manner, it can be a great aide. As moms it is always important to discuss what kids are watching and screen time can even be used to bond with your child as you watch shows together. To that effect we bring you KSP’s Teewe review. The box arrived and there was excitement already to try out what this was all about.

What is it?

Teewe is a small USB stick lookalike that is in effect an HDMI media streaming device through which you can stream content from your phone, laptops, PC, or tablet directly onto your television. As a device it is similar in function to the Google Chromecast or the Apple TV. In the box we have a small Teewe device, HDMI extension cable, power cable, power adapter, and the handy user guide. 

Apps and Features:

• Whether you are looking to use the Teewe with an Android, iPhone or a Windows phone, it has separate apps and each one has a few different functions. Some functions are limited on particular platforms. Please look through them carefully.
• Teewe has a desktop app for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
• The desktop app functions like a server through which you can stream all your local content that is accessed from your connected device of choice.
• Teewe’s apps lists several hundred Hindi movies and TV shows which you can stream and watch from YouTube.

What will make Teewe a favourite with parents is the ease of using and installing and content discoverability for kids. In no time I was enjoying a few of my favourite songs with the kids on TV. Our favourites which we watch every single day now are Ek Title and Anek titli  – a song that will bring back memories for countless parents.

• We could stream our kids favourite videos on the television in full HD without switching cables.
• The Teewe app for Android, iOS & Windows is fully loaded. Let your kids watch YouTube, play saved videos, photos, and music fairly easily.
• As moms we are always concerned about what kids might stumble upon on the internet. This device lets us track what they have watched.
• You will like the science channel and the Editor’s pick that showcases curated content.

What We Are Hoping For: 

A lot more English content that is more edutaining and a lot more of the older shows that we grew up watching in the 80’s and the 90’s as kids. Hopefully we won’t have to wait for too long.
