The monsoons are a perfect season to indulge in a good tikki snack. The humble tikki is so versatile you can make it for a tea time snack, or put it as a school tiffin meal, or even add some healthy sides and make it a great weeknight dinner!

As parents we are all about sneaking healthy nuggets into our child’s favourite meals and we love it when our kids ask for more! This recipe by nutritionist Dhwani Shah is perfect for kids because of al the healthy veggies. But it doesn’t stop there. This recipe is perfect for those looking to lose weight too. This tikki combines the goodness of corn, carrots and substitutes sweet potato for potato making it rich in beta-carotene.

Here is what you need: 

  • 200 Gms of sweet potato (boiled) 
  • 100 gms of grated carrot
  • 50 gms of boiled corn and peas
  • Salt and chilli powder
  • Coriander
  • 1/2 cup milk 
  • Teaspoon of flour

Method

Mix all the veggies and seasonings together. Add the milk and flour and mix thoroughly. Then shape into patties and shallow fry with a tablespoon of oil.
