Recipe: The Perfect Haldi Doodh (Golden Latte) Recipe To Soothe Sore Throats

There’s nothing that a glass of haldi ka doodh can’t cure!

You always knew this. Now the world is singing paeans about its goodness! Turmeric milk or Golden Latte – is the good old ‘haldi ka doodh’ – our grandmother’s solution for almost any ailment. This liquid gold is traditionally made with cow’s milk, oil, spices, and turmeric. And with time, came the variations. And cafes are now serving golden-lattes to their customers all over the world and everyone is loving it.

The main ingredient is turmeric which is a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant that boasts a wide variety of amazing health benefits. It is an excellent caffeine alternative and the earthy root is a blessing for your skin too.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • 1/2 tsp Haldi
  • 1 cup Milk
  • Pinch of Cinnamon
  • Pinch of Cardamom Powder
  • Honey

Method

  • Heat the saucepan and add a teaspoon of ghee.
  • Add the haldi and mix well.
  • Add the milk and let it simmer.
  • Add a pinch of cinnamon, cardamom and honey. Bingo! Dadi’s tested recipe for a sore throat is ready!
