We all know our children love to play while they eat. Now imagine something to do just that while inspiring them to fall in love with their city.

If you think that sounds interesting, have you heard yet about the The Yellow Pinwheel Kid’s Project? The brainchild of two friends Shivani Lath and Shinibali Mitra Saigal, they were keen on creating products got kids in India that would bring art, creativity and content together. On their travels abroad they noticed fabulous games and books for children, which were really quite simple in terms of execution but high on design and content. They collected these and have created similar content for the children’s space back home in India.

What is it?

My Mumbai is a game for children to celebrate living in the city. There are eight placematsposters that look at elements that define the city-its people, transport, celebrations, and a DIY map. The box  includes four pull-out trivia strips that are meant to serve as triggers for exploring the city, mapping spaces and appreciating little nuggets of history. The product has 4 X 2 placemats, each of the mats has a pull out trivia strip on the side.
