Koonik organic clothing & toys for kids in india

If organic baby clothes is a passing fad for you and you give it a miss thinking of being inaccessible then well lend us your eyes. Launched by Sonal Shah its name is something that caught my fancy more than the product. Kunik, says Wikipedia, is ‘a form of expressing affection, usually between family members and loved ones, that involves pressing the nose and upper lip against the skin (commonly the cheeks or forehead)’. It is the simple, tender kiss that we give babies on their cheeks and foreheads. We loved the word and played around with it for a few days and came up with Koonik!

What is Koonik all about?
All things good for the baby; organic cotton clothes, blankets and fine grain wooden toys and fur less plushies. Stuff that grandmommies would approve of from the ‘Good old days and good old ways’. Non toxic dyes and the entire treatment from growing organic cotton till the final production is controlled, ensuring that nothing harmful goes onto the clothes. They work only with manufacturers who follow strict processes for sourcing organic cotton, production, stitching and color treatment

Toys: Handmade out of soft ivory wood and are coated with dyes derived from vegetables and fruit extracts. This makes them environmentally friendly and at the same time, very safe for your baby. They are lead free, mercury free, BPA free and basically free of anything that can harm your precious little one. Though we did see seams come off the doggys tail that we did try.

What we love is their persistent search to add new and valuable product from NGO’s, self help groups and environmental groups who make incredible products for our babies. We love quirky wear for kids and when combined with relevance that makes you still smile at the next diaper change well its worth a try.

Its soft, light, cooler than regular cotton, breathable (great for the baby) and easy to maintain (great for mommies). Ofcourse its great for the environment too, but for us baby comes first. And the best part is it costs almost the same as good quality cotton.

Whats coming up?
